Swish Superluxe Cording Instructions |
|
Although these
instructions are for the Swish Superluxe corded curtain
track, the general principles are the same for all
corded curtain tracks and rails.
With the Superluxe
track the things to remember are that the cord goes
behind the gliders, i.e. next to the track, and leave
the loop in the one master glider pulled out, so that
you can adjust it as necessary later.
You can

any of the thumbnails by clicking on them, they will

|
Step 1. |
|
|
Attach the cord to the master
gliders, if your track is corded from one side only i.e.
you operate the track from one side only, then the set
up is as for picture 1. if your track is corded from both
sides then the set up is as for picture 2. |

Picture 1.
Push a loop of
cord through one of the master gliders. leave it quite
loose, so that it can be used for adjustments later.
 |

Picture 2.
The knots in the
master glider are not complex.
 |
|
Most people get confused as to how
they can get the curtains to pull in two opposite
directions when they are only pulling the cord in one
direction, the answer is that the cord is in a loop and
pulling one side towards you will pull the other side
away from you and visa versa. |
|
Step 2. |
|
|
Insert the master gliders and the
gliders into track, it is important to note that on the
Swish Superluxe track the cord runs next to the track
and the wheels of the gliders on top of the cord. |
Insert the Master Gliders

and then the roller gliders
 |
|
Step 3. |
|
|
Thread the cord
through the pulleys.
On the side where
the cord is operated picture 3 will be applicable, on
the return side the configuration will be as in picture
4. |

|
Step 4. |
|
|
|
Secure the pulleys
to the track and adjust the master gliders so that they
are at either end of the track, this is done by feeding
the loop in the master glider to either side, see
Picture 5.
Once this is done
then secure the loop on the master glider so that it is
locked behind the retaining lug see Picture 6. and the
curtain track will be operational. |

|
If your track
is Corded from both sides. |
|
|
|
All cord drawn
curtain tracks which are operated from both sides will
have some sort of pulley mechanism in the centre,
sometimes called an Intermediate pulley or a double
centre return pulley.
The set up is
exactly the same as for tracks operated from one
side, but with two tracks, see pictures 7 & 8.
On the Swish
Superluxe track a centre joiner is also used to
strengthen the join. |

|
Some final
points. |
|
|
|
As with all
curtain tracks it is very important to support the
curtain track at the very end where all the weight of
the curtains are when the curtains are open, and where
additional load is placed on it when you operate the
cord.
The Swish
Superluxe has a groove in the pulley housing to
accommodate an additional bracket, see Pictures 9 & 10.
